At last the day had arrived, Night of the Nerds… Here we come! At 8:30 we gathered at school and from there drove together with the team to the Klokgebouw in Strijp-S, Eindhoven. We arrived at 9 and immediately started getting it ready for the visitors. We also had a nice place in the hall, next to our sponsor ASML. We brought half the field, together with the robot so that visitors can also drive with the robots.
At 10 o’clock the visitors arrived and it was quite busy. Lots of enthusiastic people and FLL team members who were curious about who we are and how the game worked. Especially the self-driving attracted a lot of attention! When it became a bit quieter we also walked around in two’s or three’s to see what else was there. In the event there were two more FRC teams that we did not know about, Team and Force Fusion . We talked a lot with them and also got information about what the FRC is all about and what is different. There were also football robots and dog robots. We even walked the dog robot with our own robot and had a Robot Reunite! Everyone was driving in one place at the same time.
It was a very nice day, where we visited many companies and also picked up new knowledge
Eindelijk was het zover, Night of the Nerds… Here we come! Om 8:30 was het verzamelen op School en vandaar uit samen met het team naar het klokgebouw in Strijp-S, Eindhoven. Om 9 kwamen wij er aan en begonnen meteen met alles opbouwen en klaar zetten voor de bezoekers. We hadden ook een mooi plek in het zaal, naast ons sponsor ASML. We hadden daar het helft van de bak mee, samen met de robot zodat bezoekers ook met de robots kunnen rijden.
Om 10 uur kwamen de bezoekers en het was best druk. Veel enthousiaste mensen en FLL teamleden die benieuwd waren naar wie wij zijn en hoe het spel werkte. Vooral het zelf rijden trekte veel aandacht! Toen het een beetje rustiger werd gingen we ook in twee/drietallen rondlopen om te kijken wat er nog meer was. In het evenement waren er nog twee FRC teams die we niet kenden, Team en Force Fusion . We hebben veel met hun gepraat en ook informatie gekregen over wat het FRC nou inhoudt en wat er verschillend is. Daarnaast waren er ook voetbal robots en honden robots. We hebben zelfs de een hond robot uitgelaten met ons eigen robot en een Robot Reunite gehad! Iedere was op een plek tegelijkertijd aan het rijden.
Het was een hele leuke dag, waar we veel bedrijven hebben bezocht en ook nieuwe kennis hebben opgepakt.
